Alfred Chiasson

Alfred Chiasson is Métis, a husband and a father of three children. He was a school teacher for 34 years, and holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Education. He is also a certified genealogist, holder of a certificate awards by the Genealogical Institute of the Maritimes. He volunteers at the New Brunswick Archives in Fredericton, the Centre Nycolas Denys, Archives, Shippagan, NB, the Minor hockey league, Lamèque, NB, and at the Alliance Premier Peuple de la Côte Est/East Coast First People Alliance, where he still works as secretary-treasurer. In 2012, Alfred received the Diamond Jubilee Medal in commemoration of the 60th anniversary of Her Majesty, the Queen Elizabeth II’s Accession of the Throne. Alfred is a member of the Canadian Aboriginal Veterans National Alliance.
