Darin joined the U.S army when he was 17 in an artillery platoon then entered into the Army ROTC program ( reserve officer training core) He graduated from there into the Armor division (tanks) as a second lieutenant. Darin rejoined the civilian life after 7 years in the military.

REMEMBRANCE DAY 2018
On this day of remembrance it was anhonour to represent our Metis People in todays' two Remembrance Ceremonies in Ottawa: the first at the National Aboriginal Veterans Monument and the other at the National War Memorial to thank our men and women who served their country, and tohonour the memory of those who did not return home. From the bottom of our hearts we say: CHI MIIGWETCH, and we say "Lest we forget." May there never be another war!
REMEMBRANCE DAY 2017 - OTTAWA
On Saturday, Nov. 11th, CFMPC Lead Elder & WWII Veteran, Donald M. Fowler, Chief Karole Dumont, Daniel Gilbeau and JP Riendeau attended the Remembrance Ceremonies in Ottawa. Afterwards, Mr. Fowler and Mrs. Dumont met the Honourable Geoff Regan, Speaker of the House of Commons, and the Honourable George Furey, Speaker of the Senate of Canada.
